Premier Diamond Products was founded by Terry Webb in 1990, and he remains Managing Director, with sons Steve and Stuart also part of the management team. Stuart trained in manufacturing techniques, and now heads up our R&D, technical and product planning as Products Director, while Steve is Director responsible for Sales, Marketing and Operations. Despite our growth, we have retained a family feel, and Terry’s original ethos of ‘selling what you know’.
Terry began as a tradesman, and when he decided to open his own company, his aim was to provide the best quality products to do the job – and to work with what he knew well. It is this lesson that he built in to Premier Diamond Products – and it is why he still insists that all our staff know our product range inside out, so they can advise you with real knowledge of what you need.
Every member of staff, from sales team, to warehouse to office, knows that choosing the right drill, blade or grinder depends on the material you are cutting, and on your budget priorities. For larger jobs or constant use, a higher priced blade will be less expensive in the long-run, because it will deliver the lowest cost per cut. But cheaper blades can be cost-effective for smaller jobs, or occasional use.
As our expertise and product range grew, alongside the independent retailers, buying groups and multi-branch dealers and distributors soon added to our customer base. With national distribution came the need to expand our manufacturing base. We now have four manufacturing partners in China, with an office in Shanghai, two in Germany and one each in Italy and Denmark, along with our dedicated UK factory, which allows us to produce and deliver specialist cores to order.
All Premier Diamond Products are manufactured in accordance with EN13236 European Safety Standards, and we have been certified IOS9001:2000 since 1998.
An increasing number of our manufacturers are members of OSA, the Organisation for the Safety of Abrasives, offering the additional quality assurance of a highly regulated industry body concerned with both quality and consistency of manufacturing and performance.
